College Com Ed class encourages household green cleaning

Learn how to recognize toxic ingredients in common household cleaning products by taking a Columbia College Community Education class, titled “Green Cleaning for Home Cleaning Services.”

On two Saturdays, Sept. 6 and 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, instructor Gretchen Sullivan will provide tips on avoiding hazards associated with the use of commercial brands. She will also give information on creating less toxic homemade cleaning alternatives.

The two-day class will be held as a bilingual English/Spanish course at the college’s Calaveras Center, located at 2892 Highway 49, Suite 4 in Angels Camp.

The fee is $30 and students must register by Sept. 2.

Registrations will be accepted online at www.gocolumbia.edu and clicking on the Community Education link. Faxed registrations will also be accepted by completing the Community Education form in the Columbia College fall 2008 class schedules on page 110 and faxing it to 588-5367.  For more information, call the Community Education office at 588-5144.
